Binary digit that defines the smallest digital unit of information.

A mathematical bit can define two states or levels, 1/0, white / black, etc. Two bits can define four levels, three bits eight, and so on.

8 bits=1 byte
1,024 bytes=1 kilobyte (KB)
1,048,576 KBs=1 Megabyte (MB)
1,024 MBs=1 Gigabit (GB)
1,024 GBs=1 Terabyte (TB)
