Digital Composite video format, created in 1988, on 3/4″ tape, this format records digital composite signals without compression of any kind, this format unlike D-1 is created without taking into account the official bodies, It is a simpler and cheaper equipment than digital components.

Recognized by the SMPTE as D-2.
