Dolby Surround

Dolby Surround (also known as Dolby Stereo, Dolby 4: 2: 4 Matrix) has four-channel analog audio coding: left, center, right, surround (LCRS), on two channels mentioned as Right Total and Left Total (Rt, Lt).

The Dolby Surround system, born for the cinema, is a method to obtain more audio channels with fewer tracks.

A Dolby Surround track can be carried by analog audio or linear PCM, Dolby Digital and MPEG compression systems.
