Interlaced video, a technique commonly used in video processing based on two fields, one of which contains the even number of lines (2,4,6, 8,) and the other that carries the odd number of lines (1 , 3,5, 7,). In the PAL system there are 50 fields per second, since a complete frame is created by intermingling two fields.
