Channel monitoring
Monitoring of the signals that pass through our hands in 24×7 mode, to ensure the service of the customers who trust us and minimise the impact of any incident.
All our services and TV channels are monitored based on different solutions and specific monitoring tools, which allow us to have, in real time, the alerting and status of the entire technical infrastructure of the company.
The monitoring system includes an exhaustive analysis of the quality (QoS) of video, audio and components associated with each TV channel, such as subtitles, signalling tables, etc. This monitoring is carried out at the different stages of the chain, from the contribution stage of the channel itself, to the final distribution at user level (client view / QoE), going through the stages of encoding, satellite reception, multicast contribution or distribution signals, monitoring of transport networks, DVB analysis, multi-device monitoring, etc.
Monitoring services
These are some of the monitoring services currently operated by TSA:
Live video channel monitoring (24×7 presence and acoustic alerting via Videowall using tools such as K2 and AGAMA).
Video monitoring of Contribution services (DVB monitoring and analysis probes in the different sites where TSA operates or contributes).
Occasional Service Monitoring: Ability to monitor and adjust the levels of any signal of occasional origin (sporting events, news, institutional services…).
Broadcast Control Monitoring: specific monitoring of Play-Out channels and their associated processes (ingest, logo insertion, channel branding, play-out tracking, advertising insertion…). Channels broadcast by TSA are also recorded by judicial copy, for subsequent monitoring in the event of broadcasting incidents.
Monitoring of VOD and OTT multi-device channels (M+ client view): Dedicated monitoring room equipped with all types of devices deployed on the platform (mobiles, tablets, SmartTVs…), which guarantee the correct viewing of the different platform contents.
Video monitoring of DTH satellite channels (M+ client viewing): Service dedicated to monitoring the correct reception of all the platform’s channels, channel encryption, special monitoring of sporting events… all through all the models of receivers deployed at user level.
M+ monitoring for wholesale companies: Specific monitoring of the platform’s own production channels and events delivered to wholesale companies with distribution rights.
TSA video network monitoring: Monitoring using specific tools for alerting and status of the networks through which our TV services flow, using tools such as CISCO PRIME; CISCO ISE; CACTI; SPLUNK…
RF and satellite carrier monitoring: Monitoring of radiofrequency levels and other transmission parameters, measuring and alerting of the status of our satellite services in terms of hardware, video, VSAT network status, analysis of communication flows, carriers (satellite spectrum)…
A monitoring centre is a space where the different operators keep an eye on all the audiovisual signals available on the monitoring bridge, in order to react as quickly as possible in the event of an incident or emergency

From TSA’s facilities, either in our Network Operation Center in Madrid – Tres Cantos or from the Satellite Communications Center in Guadalajara, more than 700 TV and radio channels are monitored in 24×7 mode.
