Teleport
Telefónica has a 25-hectare teleport with more than 90 antennas from which it distributes and receives TV, radio, Internet, LAN, Voice IP and data channels from all over the world.

Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales owns large facilities in an unbeatable geographical location in which various teams with more than 50 professionals with extensive experience work and from which it provides a service to more than 500 television and radio channels around the world.
The facilities:
- Satellite Communications Centre (SCC). A total of 25 ha located in Guadalajara with a constructed area of 12,000 m2, with access to 40 orbital positions, more than 90 antennas and optical ground wire through 3 diversified routes.
- Satellite Planning and Engineering Unit. Located in the Telefónica District in Madrid and in the Central Hub in Tres Cantos.
- Operation and Maintenance Unit. In the S.C.C. in Guadalajara and in the Central Hub in Tres Cantos.

Satellite distribution
Management of various satellite platforms covering Europe, Africa, the Middle East and America, as well as offering its own satellite capacity through various satellites, such as Hispasat, SES, Eutelsat, etc., in KU, C and Ka bands.
Uplink, downlink and Turnaround
Uplink (signal uploading to satellites), downlink (signal download from satellites), and turnaround (signal download from a satellite to upload it into another) services.
National and international telephone services
Satellite-based voice services to locations, with no other access, in more than 13 countries.
IP and broadband services
Internet services and universal broadband via satellite to locations with no other type of access, in addition to corporate services for business customers, mobility etc.
DTH Multimedia services
Satellite distribution of digital pay TV platforms in their different transponders.
Network services
Corporate and institutional VSATs etc…
TV and radio channel distribution services, news, audio and video distribution networks, backup networks for corporate communication, bidirectional networks for points of sale, remote networks for surveillance systems, M2M, telemetry and telecontrol etc.
Encoding and multiplexing
The most modern encoding and multiplexing headends covering various encoding formats (MPEG2, MPEG4…) and encapsulation (TS, RTMP, HLS, MPEG-DASH, MSS etc.), allowing the widest range of services and formats.
Conditional access services
Commitment to the most advanced conditional access systems on the market such as Nagra, Viaccess, Irdeto and other simpler solutions such as BISS, etc.
Standard conversion
To transmit TV signals to different countries it is necessary to distribute the signals in different standards, PAL, NTSC, SECAM etc. TSA offers its customers the possibility of converting the original signal to the precise standard for the country of destination.
24×7 operation, support and maintenance service
Operation, support and maintenance service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from the Operation and Maintenance units in the S.C.C. in Guadalajara and from the Tres Cantos headquarters which provides an operation, support and maintenance service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

A teleport or earth station is a terrestrial communication station for the broadcasting of various television, voice and data services via satellite. They usually consist of a set of large parabolic antennas thatreceive and transmit the signals to the satellite.
