Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales provides IB3 with a new mobile unit
Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) has been awarded the supply of a new Mobile Radio Unit, to renew the system for the production of external content for the radio-television of the Balearic Islands IB3.
With this new acquisition, the public entity plans to be able to transmit by IP and radio links to the studios of all the offices that it has distributed in the islands of; Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, constituting a complete solution to support the production of outdoor content.
The solution proposed by TSA for the realization of the mobile radio unit is based on the combination of analog and digital audio signals, whose connections are made by patch panel to the different equipment. These patch panels, bantam type, allow routing to the mixer, between the playback and transmission systems of the mobile unit. Similarly, a connection of the different radio frequency antennas, responsible for the transmission and reception of the different signals is made.
The Mobile Unit, installed on a Renault Master, Van Model, has an operating area and commentator, voice-over and storage capacity. To achieve these three zones in such a small space, the adaptation of the driver and passenger seat is carried out to make them rotatable. It is a driving space when the Mobile Unit is on the move, and area of operations and commentator when it is parked for its operation.
The locution area has a folding table for 4 commentators, being at the same time a loading area for different materials and leaving the rear of the vehicle for storage.
On the outside, the Mobile Unit has a motorized canopy of 2 meters in width with 2 meters of reach, and a folding aluminum ladder for accessing the roof, where the antennas are located on a 6m Clark Masts mast and rod type antenas .
Likewise, the Mobile Unit has LED lighting both inside and outside, electrical installation and air conditioning.
As for equipment, TSA installs a Quantum ST ALL Dual LTE encoder from the manufacturer Prodys, IP audio codec of 1U rack, which allows compression algorithms such as PCM, G711, G722, MPEG Layer II, apt-X, OPUS. Likewise, the AoIP encoder supplied by IB3 RADIO that is integrated into the new installation will be put in place.
For TSA, training is one of the key pillars in the execution of all its projects, so special care and affection are put into these services to guarantee the success of the integration. The training includes both technical contents and work and operation flow in the different systems, making available to IB3 the necessary resources by the different manufacturers involved in this integration.
TSA delivers the Mobile Unit at the IB3 RADIO facilities with a 5-year warranty for the bodywork and 2 years for the equipment integration.
