Telefónica Spain reinforces its commitment with the Media Sector

Last Thursday, February 9th, and sponsored by Quantum, Telefónica celebrated the internal kick off of the Media Sector, which aims to transversally promote Media in all areas of the group.

 

 

Under the commercial management of Kepa Aurre, the event organized by Telefónica Spain brought together the Media Sector with the help of Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) and Telefónica Soluciones (TSOL). More than 60 professionals from the group were invited to a conference where they shared their strategic vision of MEDIA and Broadcast business, reviewed important success projects and analyzed the best way to jointly respond the needs of media customers. This event highlights the best of each Telefónica´s companies in order to offer integrated, disruptive, innovative and cutting-edge solutions.

The event was introduced by Kepa Aurre and Jose Luis García Cabrera, director of Audiovisual Services and Platforms at Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA), who welcomed the attendees and presented the current context of the media and entertainment sector, with its main trends and challenges, both globally and in Spain.

Kepa then analyzed and explained to the audience the main opportunities currently existing in the media sector, arising from the strong technological transformation led by technology, as well as the role of Telefónica as a major player in the digital transformation of the companies in the sector.

After this introduction of the audiovisual panorama, each team in the session was introduced represented by: sales, specialist sales, business development, marketing, pre-sales, engineering, etc., so all attendees could put faces and roles to all the links in this great value chain. “Not everyone is here, but everybody is represented… Telefónica is the #mediamarket. The best team imaginable to respond the needs of our customers in the media sector” (Kepa Aurre).

Subsequently, Rocio Martinez, Sector Marketing Manager, analyzed the trends and position of Telefónica in the sector. After this intervention, the Video Marketing teams, with Ainhoa del Val, Head of Process Marketing and Martín Parrilla Head, IoT Solutions, made a summary of Media sector evolution, either at audiovisual, radio, press, production companies and publishers, between other media companies, within the Group in recent years.

Also, Asier Anitua, Business Development Manager at Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA), analyzed the position of TSA and Telefónica Broadcast Services (TBS) in the value chain as well as its market position and capabilities.

After that, presented by the teams involved in different projects, 3 important success stories were shown with all the details that have contributed to make Telefónica the leading company in systems integration and a reference for the broadcast sector.

 

Finally, Massimiliano Capoccetti (Channel Manager M&E EMEA) and Sebastián Wainberg (Sales Manager for SEMEA), from Quantum, sponsor of the event, discussed the latest developments with special focus on cyber-security, anti-ransomware solutions, energy saving at datacenters and unified multimedia content management, both local and remote.

They also emphasized the advantages that Telefónica and Quantum share in the Media sector. Together, both companies can offer relevant solutions that respond to the latest trends and most important needs of the media market, optimizing investments and providing extensive integrations with different workflows, putting infrastructures under the service of better creative work and security for multimedia assets.
