Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales renews CCMA’s headend with UHD encoders

News 23 May, 2024

The Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA) has awarded Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) the tender for updating its headend. The project aims to renovate equipment and integrate the first UHD channel into the primary distribution system of its linear live programming.

TSA‘s proposed solution includes equipment from the renowned manufacturer Ateme, a leader in advanced video compression solutions. To address this need, the manufacturer’s TITAN infrastructure has been maintained, compatible with the current equipment (Ateme TitanLive encoders and Ateme TitanMux multiplexers), offering a software package for encoding/transcoding various inputs into multiple outputs with different resolutions, codecs, and video bitrates for any platform.

This solution provides high capacity for expansion and scalability, allowing CCMA to accommodate potential channel expansions by simply increasing the necessary encoding equipment. Additionally, it features a robust and error-resistant management system with a user-friendly GUI-based operational interface accessible via HTTP, enabling event recording as well as storage and retrieval of at least 5 configurations for the encoders.

TSA‘s maintenance and support team offer CCMA comprehensive service for any technical queries or system-related incidents. This service underscores TSA‘s commitment to ensuring the smooth operational development and successful implementation of all its solutions.
