Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) implements an innovative service for the Caza y Pesca channel on Movistar Plus+ that allows for the transcription of dialogues and the automatic generation of subtitles using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Thanks to this service, subtitle files have been created for 32 pieces of content on the channel, each with a duration of between 25 and 30 minutes, in Spanish, English, and French.

TSA’s service addresses a specific need of the Caza y Pesca channel, which sought transcriptions and subtitles to expand its audience. The generated files include precise timestamps and are in compatible formats, such as the srt format, facilitating their integration into linear broadcasts and on-demand content.

In addition to the initial 32 pieces of content, the generation of transcriptions and subtitles has recently been requested for 14 new hunting contents in Spanish and two contents of the programme “Informe Plus+” in English. These tasks not only involve the creation of subtitles but also the encoding of videos to include the subtitles permanently in the image when necessary.

All these services have been managed through our technological partner Etiqmedia, a company highly specialised in artificial intelligence solutions applied to the audiovisual field. This process has allowed the Caza y Pesca channel on Movistar Plus+ to offer its content in several languages, improving the viewer experience and ensuring that the programmes are accessible to a global audience.

The solution is provided through the TSA HUB, an innovative Content Management and Audiovisual Services platform that TSA offers to its clients, capable of integrating both live signals and content in VOD (Video On Demand) format. Its MAM (Media Asset Management) system manages, organises, and catalogues any type of file, associating content with assets and personalised metadata to facilitate automation, search, retrieval, content management, and distribution in multiple formats. It also offers media processing with AI, dubbing, subtitling, DRM, and watermarks, all under a hybrid cloud infrastructure (private and public) with monitoring and Disaster Recovery capabilities.

With the implementation of this automatic transcription and subtitling service, TSA not only optimises the accessibility and inclusion of the Caza y Pesca channel content on Movistar Plus+, but also positions itself as a leader in technological innovation in its sector. The new HUB that the company offers to its clients reinforces TSA’s commitment to quality and excellence in content management, leveraging the advantages of artificial intelligence as cutting-edge technology to adapt to the growing demands of the broadcast and audiovisual market.
