TSA drives an innovative medical AI solution for Idoven, featuring cutting-edge NVIDIA technology
The solution, developed by Idoven and hosted in Telefónica’s Data Centre, relies on infrastructure provided by Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales to train AI models capable of detecting cardiac conditions from electrocardiograms.
Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales, together with Telefónica Empresas, has supplied and integrated a powerful technological infrastructure for Idoven, a deeptech start-up in the healthcare sector applying artificial intelligence to electrocardiogram analysis. The project is based on two NVIDIA DGX H100 servers and Mellanox switching, hosted in Telefónica’s Data Centre, and is designed to train generative AI models that enable the early detection of cardiovascular diseases with accuracy equal to or greater than that of a cardiologist.
Artificial intelligence in the service of cardiovascular health
Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of mortality worldwide. In response to this challenge, Idoven has developed Willem, a CE-marked AI-based platform that analyses electrocardiograms for the early diagnosis of heart conditions. To train these algorithms, a state-of-the-art infrastructure has been deployed, combining computing power, advanced connectivity and clinical-grade security.
The solution includes two NVIDIA DGX H100 servers, a global benchmark in accelerated computing, specifically designed for generative AI workloads. Thanks to this capability, Idoven can drastically reduce the training times of its diagnostic models, improving iteration, performance and result reliability.
High-performance infrastructure with NVIDIA and Mellanox
Alongside raw processing power, the infrastructure includes a Mellanox switching network, enabling ultra-fast, uninterrupted communication between the system’s various components. This high-bandwidth network is key to moving large volumes of clinical data with zero latency and complete integrity, ensuring the reliability of automated medical analysis.
The environment is completed with a private cloud deployed in Telefónica’s Data Centre, providing multiple layers of physical and logical security. Full compliance with healthcare and data protection regulations is ensured, and the environment is monitored 24/7 by specialised technical staff who guarantee its availability and performance.
Medical diagnosis with AI, data security and a forward-looking vision
The system’s design is modular and scalable, allowing Idoven to add new processing nodes, expand its storage capacity or integrate new biomedical data sources. This long-term vision ensures the platform’s sustainability and its ability to adapt to advances in precision medicine and predictive diagnostics.
In addition, the project has been conceived to maximise the security of sensitive data processing, through advanced cybersecurity measures, certified physical infrastructure and continuous support.
