Since any color signal can be formed with the three primary colors, red, green and blue, a formula is sought to reduce them and suppress the green of the components; R-Y = 0.7 R– 0.59 G – 0.11 B (0.7 of Red minus 0.59 of Green minus 0.11 of Blue).
