TSA triumphs in the 5th edition of the TM Broadcast Awards with five winning projects
Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) receives 5 awards in the 5th edition of the prestigious TM Broadcast Awards. The recognitions cover everything from technological innovation in audiovisual platforms and services to advanced solutions in IP playout, archiving, virtual production and OTT.
The TM Broadcast Awards, organised by the magazine of the same name, celebrate their 5th edition this year, recognising the most innovative and impactful projects in the audiovisual sector. In this edition, TSA has been awarded in five categories, reaffirming its leadership in technological solutions and broadcast services.
The jury, made up of prominent industry professionals, assesses each entry based on its originality, level of technical implementation and contribution to the advancement of the audiovisual market.
This year, TSA has been recognised in several key categories, consolidating its position as a benchmark in digital transformation and audiovisual innovation.
- Best IP Technology Integration Project: Renewal of the Sant Cugat Playout System and Adaptation to IP Technology
Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA) is leading the modernisation of RTVE’s playout system in Sant Cugat, migrating from SDI to IP video technology based on SMPTE 2110. Featuring redundant servers, recording systems, shared storage, and IP audio integrated with advanced control, this project enhances the efficiency, flexibility and quality of broadcasting. In addition, TSA managed the installation and staff training, delivering a robust and secure IP network that reinforces its pioneering role in IP video solutions.
- Best Innovation Project: Comprehensive Platform for Audiovisual Content and Services Management TSAMediaHUB
TSAMediaHUB, TSA’s comprehensive platform for the production, management, storage and distribution of audiovisual content, has been recognised for its modular architecture that combines on-premise, cloud and edge environments. It includes automated ingest, advanced MAM, collaborative remote production and multichannel distribution, all powered by artificial intelligence for cataloguing, editing, analysis and monetisation. With predictable costs and compatibility with existing infrastructures, TSAMediaHUB offers security, scalability and operational efficiency.
- Best Audiovisual Production/Installation: Virtual Production with Holography for the ERT Plenary Session
At the European Round Table for Industry (ERT) held in Madrid, TSA deployed a virtual production with holography. Using Brainstorm Edison Pro, Unreal Engine and Mo‑Sys tracking, an immersive 3D hologram of cinematic quality was achieved, showcasing the potential of holography in corporate events and overcoming physical boundaries.
- Best Archive Integration: Canal Extremadura
TSA has implemented Quantum’s StorNext 6 solution to upgrade the digital archive of Canal Extremadura. By replacing SSD enclosures, NAS heads, high-speed switches and updating licences, the project improves capacity, performance and scalability for the next five years. Seamless migration, technical support and specialised training ensure the efficient preservation of the region’s audiovisual heritage.
- Best OTT Project: Implementation of the Headend for the O2 TV OTT Service
In Germany, TSA has launched the headend for O2 TV’s OTT service, covering the reception and distribution of over 148 channels. With high-density encoding, management, encryption and a geo-redundant active-active network, the platform offers advanced features such as personal recording, startover and timeshift. Thanks to its robust and flexible architecture, TSA ensures a high-quality user experience in the digital environment.
