Telefónica presents Real Madrid Case Study at ISE

The New Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is conceived as a new space in which not only football matches will be played, but which also will become an icon of the city; a multi-purpose space with a capacity for 85,000 people, equipped with the most advanced cutting-edge technology, which will host most exclusive events and shows in Madrid, offering attendees and fans the best experience imaginable 365 days a year.

Telefónica has had the privilege of being part of this transformation, that makes the New Santiago Bernabéu Stadium a great technological platform for sports and audiovisual content. Thus, at last ISE 2024 edition, held from 30 January to 2 February in Barcelona, we had the opportunity to present the Case Study of the technological transformation project of the New Real Madrid Stadium.

The event, which took place at Lawo stand, was attended by heads of Telefónica’s Audiovisual Services area, who explained to those present, in Spanish and English, the main milestones of the audiovisual part of a project of such impact and scope.

In this complex project, Telefónica team highlighted Real Madrid’s main objectives with the new stadium, its commitment to an IP infrastructure based on SMPTE-2110 protocol, the main benefits of this technology for Real Madrid, the new standards in sports, and the important role of integrator in this type of projects, among others.

 

With this ambitious project, Real Madrid makes the New Santiago Bernabeu Stadium the largest sports infrastructure in SMPTE-2110 in Europe today, while becoming the first stadium with 100% 4K capability in the same protocol.
